ICEA - VBS-SMC Workshops

Many workshops have been planned that will help you learn how to run a VBS, recruit workers, become a better teacher, and teach the Gospel to children in a way they can understand.

You may attend two one-hour workshops and/or curriculum presentations in the morning, and two in the afternoon.

How to Prepare and Deliver a Bible Lesson	Bernice Laster	This class will show you how to use any chosen curriculum and weave the gospel message of salvation into each lesson.
Jesus to the Rescue	Cheryl Frost	A VBS curriculum presentation.
Me, the Director?	Betty Dymond	A “how to” workshop that gives you step by step guidance in preparing your program.
Puppet Making Made Easy [Part 1]	Murray Howell & Hazel Howell	Four unique sessions–actually make a puppet! All materials are furnished. No machine sewing. In the last session, you will learn how to use your new puppet. (Additional $25 registration required to cover furnished materials; bring a pair of scissors.)
Surf’n God’s Word: In Search of Truth	Monica Mackler & Jerri Coleman	A VBS curriculum presentation.
Teaching God’s Word to the “Lost and Found”	Marilyn McMichael	Reaching the unsaved child for Christ is one of the goals of your Vacation Bible School Summer Ministry Program. This brings you to another goal of challenging the Christian child to grow in Christ. In this workshop, help is given for you to attain both goals.

Leading Children to the Savior	Sid McMichael & Marilyn McMichael	Practical helps in sharing the message of salvation and counseling the unsaved child for salvation.
Operation Christmas Child	Stephen Beck & Karen Beck	It’s Christmas in July! A VBS-Summer Ministry service project for children to reach children.
Puppet Making Made Easy [Part 2]	Murray Howell & Hazel Howell
Recruiting Workers	Cindy Ziemba	Developing your ministry staff is an essential part of a successful summer program. This workshop deals with finding and equipping your volunteer workers.
SonCreek Junction	Betty Dymond	A VBS curriculum presentation.

Organizing Summer Ministries for Outreach	Dennis Talbert	This workshop will give you the enthusiasm you need to begin planning your programs to make a “Sizzlin’ Summer” of activity to reach your community.

Treasures from Trash	Nell Beare	Creative crafting for thrifty crafters. This session is packed full of ideas to make crafts from items you might otherwise throw away.

Disciplining Children in Love	Cindy Ziemba	When behavior is unacceptable we are better able to touch the heart of a child and foster right response when love and understanding are brought to the situation. Learn to be the prepared teacher necessary to handle tough problems.
